DESIGN & SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT

NEW ECONOMY COALITION, 2019-2025

As Communications Manager at NEC, I crafted hundreds of social media posts ranging from research-heavy
deep dives, to rapid response actions, meme drops, and collaborations with artists. I’m adept both at
designing and writing original content, as well as adapting exisiting writing and images to be consise and
punchy for social media.

NARRATIVE STRATEGY

RESIST & BUILD

I led the content
development and design
for a narrative
collaboration between
Movement Generation,
Climate Justice Alliance,
and New Economy
Coalition.

Each of the 5 themes
featured social
movement history,
present day case studies,
and a reading list of
further resources, as well
as a microsite to host the
content.

NEW ECONOMY ROUNDUP & MORE

Since 2019, I’ve coauthored a bimonthly newsletter for an audience of ~25,000 people focusing on economic
democracy, internationalism, and grassroots power building. Here’s two recent examples from the Roundup,
plus an event recap I wrote in collaboration with the Cooperative Economics Alliance of NYC.

RESUME

I’m a designer and comms strategist dedicated to amplifying the work of
people on the ground building collective power against capitalism, militarism,
and imperialism.

I was born and raised in the Paumalū Ahupua’a (land & watershed) of O’ahu,
Hawai’i and have been based in Oaxaca, Mexico since 2018. I’ve had the great
fortune to study in Oregon, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Cuba. The
movements and people and land of all these places deeply inform my work and
my politic.

I’ve been doing organizational communications since 2018, and prior to that
worked as a freelance designer and cartographer. I’ve also worked as an arts
and environmental educator. I see design as a tool to synthesize, organize, and
distill information to make it accessible and enticing for a broad audience.

Outside of work, I’m learning to embroider, weave metal, fix bikes, and working
up the courage to make some silly little music with my friends!! ;)
